Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 4, 2026

This policy explains what data the Verge iOS app (“Verge”, “we”) collects, why, and the rights you have over it.

In short

  • We cannot see which apps you use, for how long, or what you do inside them.
  • We show no ads, do not sell your data, and do not track you across other apps or websites.
  • You can permanently delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.

Screen Time data

Verge uses Apple’s Screen Time (Family Controls) framework. The apps you select are given to us as opaque, encrypted tokens; only your phone knows which apps you chose and your detailed usage. Detailed usage reports are rendered on your device by Apple’s system and are not sent to our servers.

Only these summaries reach our servers: the daily and weekly total minutes spent in your selected apps, your daily limit, and whether you stayed under it that day. They are used to calculate your streak and to rank the friends league.

Data we collect

  • Account: the username you choose, an anonymous user ID generated on your device, and your share code. We do not ask for your name, email, or phone number.
  • Progress: streak, badges, challenges, and the usage summaries described above.
  • Social features: your friends list, friend requests, shared streak groups, and plans you share with friends. Friends can see your username, streak, and weekly total.
  • Notifications: if you allow notifications, your device’s push token and your notification preferences.
  • Product analytics: your steps inside the app (e.g. screens viewed, whether a feature was turned on, purchase outcome) and your answers to the onboarding questions (e.g. age range, goal, estimated screen time). These are stored with your anonymous user ID and used to improve the app.
  • Subscription: Apple handles payment; we never see your card details. We receive your subscription status (active or not, which plan).

Who we share data with

We do not sell your data. We use these service providers only to run the app:

  • Google Firebase (database, server functions, and push delivery)
  • RevenueCat (subscription status validation)
  • Apple (payments, Screen Time, and notifications)

These providers may process data on servers outside your country. We may disclose data to authorities where the law requires it.

Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account exists. Use Settings → Delete Account to permanently delete your account and its data; this cannot be undone. You can revoke Screen Time access at any time in iOS Settings → Screen Time.

Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data, and object to its processing (including rights under GDPR and Turkey’s KVKK). Just write to us.

Children

Verge is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we update this policy, we will publish the new version on this page and change the date.
